I can't stretch it more the difference it makes in your research. I tried both ways without a guide/advisor and with a guide. With the first approach, I wasn't even able to read the one paper and understand it or stick with any one problem like which one to work on. reasons to meet the guide and discuss they will suggest some nice research problems that you can work on if you haven't decided yet
